I know I repeat myself but Korean cinema just stands out from the other Asian countries. There are so many good movies coming from South-Korea and Alienoid (or Oegye+in 1bu for the Korean title (how the heck do you pronounce that?)) is another example of a well made and entertaining movie. I don’t think I spoil anything if I tell you there will be a sequel and I will for sure be watching that one as well. Alienoid is non-stop action, you won’t get time to get bored. The cinematography is impressive, even though some CGI scenes looked fake but you just have no time to think about that as you get overwhelmed by action scenes. I found the monsters and other creatures very interesting, a lot of creativity to come up with those. Writer/director Dong-hoon Choi did a very good job here. I will for sure watch out for his other movies in the future. The acting is for Asian standards very good. South-Koreans just know how to act, not that overacting you get in other Asian countries. The difficult language doesn’t help with the already complicated story. Reading the subtitles whilst there is so much going on is sometimes difficult. Alienoid isn’t an easy movie to watch, the story is a bit complicated, but it’s for sure a h*** of a ride. Looking forward to the sequel.
